What is it with my kids (miss 2 in particular) and injuring them self when Daddy is away. Yesterday Miss 2 decided that it was a good day to take a trip to the Dr's.
She was standing watching love to sing I away and saw from the corner of my eye Miss 2 hitting her head on the coffee table, then landing flat on the floor. I have no idea how it happened, but my poor little girl lay on the floor stunned. I went to see if she really was ok as she was not making a noise, She then sat up held her head and screamed. I picked her up and gave her a huge hug but wondered how she managed to get tears on my chin. I went to wipe it away to find it was not tears but blood pooring out of her head. I know heads bleed lots, but seriously with in the few seconds before I realised what was going on it was all over me and her.
I went to start up the car and Miss 2 had left the door open only slightly over night and the battery was dead flat. Luckily I could use my friend car and she had a car seat fitted for a 3 year old.
We arrived at the GP with a cloth nappy drenched in blood and sure enough she had cracked her head open and needed it glued back together.
We are lucky that she did not go unconsious and so far she has had no concussion. The only struggle we are having is keeping her still and not bouncing off the walls with the adrenalin. She is super hypo since it happened. I have been scared she will bump it and hurt her self again. But since we survived today, I'm sure she will be fine Now.
So another 12 days to go.....that better be the one and only incident that happens this trip.
Sounds like you both need a virtual hug! Hang on in there and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have no more injuries while Dad is away.
