I have only felt this way 3 times in my life. Once when my oldest was 6 months old I was itching to get back to work....I did part time for a bit when she was older but only for a very short time before we had our big move when I then had a new house to unpack, a new life to build in a new town all with 5 months before a new baby entered the world.
Then when Mr1 was about 6 months old I had the itchy feet - I needed a change, I felt stuck and isolated and like my brain was turning to mush......but after a few weeks it settled down and I got on with having fun with the kids.
Now I have the need for a change again, but this time it is different. I am at a blank as to what will help fill this blank. I have thought about many things.....is it the need for a third baby? is it the need to go back to part time work? is it just that I need to find some time once a week to do something for me like join a gym, a night class, or a hobby that I can fit in around the kids? is it just that I need some me time to email friends out of town regularly to catch up, or finish the kids scrapbooks or to make something?
It is not like I don't have things to keep me busy. I am on the Toy library committee, I now facilitate parenting tool box courses every term for 6 weeks, I attend a mums group, We go to mainly music, we go to play groups, we regularly visit friends, I have two afternoons a week child free when Miss3 is at kindy and Mr1 is sleeping. I love the quiet, but miss the kids dearly and I am often busy making wraps / cleaning / doing the washing and general house hold things in my quiet time that I just don't get a moment to sit and have some quiet time for my self.
so now to fill the blank and find the answer......
I hope that it comes to me soon as I am so ready for a change. Be it a small change or a big one.
I say a 3rd baby is in order. ;-). In all seriousnes though, i think some you time is very much needed!! Your an amazing mummy and you need to have some time just for YOU and not the family. hope you work it out soon. xoxo
