Today Miss3 and I got stuck into the garden. A couple of weekends ago we started the de-weeding process. this took a while as the garden was well and truly over grown from winter. But now it is looking slightly better. We have 1/3 finished with the herbs and some lettuce seedlings planted.
Today Miss3 and I planted some seedlings. She had so much fun putting potting mix into the containers and talking about what seeds went where and how many. It was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon with her. We don't have a glass house at this place and don't really have any where in the house house or outside to keep the seedlings in a sunny spot. We needed to go to bunnings to get a few tomato plants and while we were there we found this nifty little plastic glass house for $30.
The kids had great pleasure in helping Dad put it together and before we knew it they had both run down to the seedlings and tucked them away in the glass house all by them self - only one accident when Mr1 dropped a whole egg try of corn. Luckily it was an easy clean up.
It was great seeing the kids getting into the gardening and getting pleasure from simple things in life.
Miss3 now wants to get stuck into the rest of the garden and get more plants in. But that will have to wait for some nicer weather. It is meant to rain tomorrow :(
Great idea, Chloe loves planting things as well! Ollie just likes throwing the dirt around ;-)
