Busy time of year.

What a week.
With the business of Christmas, Hubby painting a fence or two or three....well eventually all of the fences. We decided to pack up and visit family and friends up north in Whangarei.

Was lovely to catch up with friends who have recently moved. It was so cute when their little girl was on the deck squealing with excitement and saying hi to the kids. It amazes me how much little ones remember friends and miss them over time. Sadly being 4 hours away it will be a while until we see them again.....but hopefully before number 3 arrives we can sneak another trip up.

We also caught up with the grandparents.....well that is Hubby and my grandparents and the kids great grandparents. It was lovely to see the delight in the grandparents faces as they got to spoil the kids with chocolate and juice and they were not worried about the kids bouncing off the walls after :) Luckily for us they crashed in the car on the way to my parents farm where we had dinner before heading home.

With visiting out of town, having family come stay, getting ready for Christmas and catching up on house stuff and cleaning up the garden from winter life has been a bit busy here. I am guessing once Hubby returns to work next week then life will return to normal with the kids driving me crazy. But  for now I can enjoy relaxing baths in the morning (until the kids discover I am in the bath and want to join me), sleep ins while they jump on the trampoline and I "watch" them from bed with my eyes closed and lots of family quality time while we potter around home and go visiting. It is unfortunate about the rain.....but at the same time it is great as it is forcing us to have some much needed quality family time.

Hope everyone is enjoying their family holidays.
