Meet our latest family additions......

Miss3 was so delighted today when we discovered that her Swan plants had lots of tiny hungry caterpillars munching away on the plant. She had planted these from little seedlings and has carefully looked after them since.

A few weeks ago she was excited to announce that a butterfly was playing with the plants :) and that soon we would have little eggs that would hatch into caterpillars that would grow bigger and bigger and bigger until they ate so much that they went to hide in a cocoon to turn into a butterfly.

So today when we showed her the teeny tiny caterpillars she was just so amazed and excited.

One cheeky caterpillar was found on dad's shirt when we came inside. Miss3 thought this was just so funny that it snuck onto his shirt and inside. She decided to "rescue" it and have a little play with the caterpillar before carefully returning it to its plant. 

She then found a nice leafe for the Cute little caterpillar to go on but was horrified and scared that it was falling off as it was going under the leaf. Poor girl was so upset that the poor things was going to fall off and die. We explained how the caterpillar likes to hide from rain and the sun so they all like being under the leaf....."just like a big umbrella" she announces :)

I love how the minds of little ones work.
