I haven't said anything till now as I really didn't know how well it was going to go and I didn't want to jinks it........But I think I can safely say we have a little boy who is out of nappies during the day. to be honest I was so nervous about starting this journey from nappies to big boy undies. It has not bee as easy as Miss3 was, but much easier than I expected it to be.
I am so relieved as I was not too keen on having two kids in nappies and I didn't want to be toilet training with a new born again.
I had been warned that boys were harder and take longer and usually don't toilet train until 3..........But surley if he was showing signs and interest there was a small glimor of hope. So while Hubby was home over christmas on boxing day we started the journey to toilet train. Day 1 = DISASTER. So after 8 changes of undies, multile floor cleaning of number 2's and 1's We decided he was no where near ready.
On New years eve we decided that maybe we needed to just push on with it and see what happens and to our surprise he was showing more interest.
Day 1 = 5 accidents but multiple successful toilet trips.
Day 2 = 3 accidents but again multiple successful toilet stops.
Day 3 = much the same
Day 4 = Disaster
Day 5 = 1 accident and lots of successful trips.
Day 6 onwards = happy parents and the occasional accident.
So now after a couple of weeks we are getting better and better at this toileting thing. he is starting to know when he needed to go before he has a little accident and he is so proud of him self. He even takes him self to the toilet when out and comes home dry which is a huge relief (although we have used Buzz Undies - Pull ups on the odd occasion if we were out for too long. But he has just thought of them as undies so has asked to go toilet.
Only issue we currently have is Mr2 getting engrossed in a game or activity and leaving it too late. But I am sure in the next couple of week he will be getting much better at this toileting thing. and for a boy who has just turned two I am so proud of how well he is doing.
Two very proud and happy parents and one very proud little sister. She even went to the supermarket with some pocket money to buy him a special treat for doing so well and having no accidents one day. I could not have been prouder of her that day. She has such a sharing heart.

Well done!! Glad he is doing so well! Aria was talking all about how he used her toilet today :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
ReplyDeleteAria is such a cutie. He came home and told everyone that he went to the toilet at Aria's.......it was his first outing out with big boys undies on and not his Buzz undies (pull ups).
Thanks for the visit today.
